Update

Hi guys,

Sorry I haven't been updating you with the new things that have been happening down at the Geeky Generation HQ!
It has been a busy, exciting and nervous couple of months. Where shall I start first....
So the new Varsity Jumpers were the last thing that was released. And since than we have released a new T-Shirt, Geek Stamp (as seen below). The T-Shirt was chosen as by the fans to be printed So we did it!

Something very exciting happening, we are attending the London Comic EXPO!!!! :D We have a 3 day stall booked from 25-27th May. This is a big opportunity for us as it will give us a chance to actually see the people and get to feel how it would be once the products are out there and people can actually see them and feel them. We have been preparing at the office and buying bits and bobs for the Expo. I feel like there is still so much to do.

Apart from the expo, we have placed an order for caps. They are coming from USA, and we are waiting any day for the sample to be seen. I can tell you now it will be a white snapback with a black brim.

And now the biggest thing we have been doing is probably creating and working together with a designer from Indonesia on our next few T-Shirt releases. We are ordering 5 different designs which will be released all at once. And we are hoping they will be ready by he Expo date :)

As you can see we have been occupied, not only with new releases but with also working on our packaging and getting our name out there.

So till next time geeks, keep it cool!

Update

Hey guys,

Its half way through the month and the sales are going pretty good :) So good that I have already made enquires into my next product. It's October and winter is coming so what better thing to release now than a jumper? More specifically a Varsity Jumper/Jacket. Last week I went to check out the company and order a sample of black and white varsity jacket with the Geeky Generation logo embroidered on the left breast pocket and embroidery on the back top to say "Geeky Generation". I am excited to see it tomorrow and hopefully it will be good so I can order more for the shop!

Apart from searching for my new "invention" for the shop, I have been looking into different screen printing companies as the current one has disappointed me majorly. It is very hard to find a decent one that you can actually trust. And being almost a perfectionist when it comes to the orders, Its makes the search for a screen printer even harder.

If any one knows any one who does good screen printing, send me an email, I would appreciate it :)

Anywayyysss, it's 10 months since I got happily married, after getting a new King Size bed for us and successfully may i add, putting it together after 2 hours of sweat and blood....well no blood, it is ready for us to jump in and enjoy it :D Can't wait for my love to get back from work to show of my master skills....no not in bed...THE BED! Dinner is burining as well, so CIAO people!!!

Photoshoot recap

Hey guys,

Sorry I havent been realy blogging much latelly but it's quite hard starting everything up from scratch and then even having to learn everything before doing anything. But anyway I hope I will have more time now to blog as the business is officially LIVE and on the way :D

Last time I was talking about doing the photo shoot! Well it has been done, and did we pick a good day for the shoot. The two models Dusica Sember and Mark W, have done a great job. But I definatelly ahve to thank the amazing photographer Naidia Sants Paiva. She has a great passion or photography and this is reflected through out her photography. Check her facebook out by searching Naidia Paiva-My Images page or just click here http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000172665297#!/Naidia.S.Paiva

All in all a great day for the shoot. Here are a few pics to show you what I am talking about:

Launch

Past couple of weeks have been pretty busy. From arranging promotional flayers to deciding on the actual Launch day.

I have finally managed to sit down and finish of the whole business plan. Some people ask me why did I have to finish a business plan when I am still such a small business, but you know what I would recommend everyone to make one. However small or big you are, it gives you a clear indication of what you really want to do for your business in order to make it successful. It is almost like a guide for yourself and what you hope your business will achieve.

On the other note, I have decided to get a photographer and do a professional photo shoot with a female and male model for the website. The photo shoot will take place in the Rose Gardens in Hyde Park this weekend. I really hope it does not rain otherwise I am f****d!

Leaflets have been designed and are ready to be sent off tomorrow for printing. By 18th they should all be done and ready for distribution :)

Ouh and something else has been done, the T-Shirts are in!!!!!!!!
I went yesterday to IKEA, and ended up buying two shelf looking things for where I will be keeping the T-Shirts. The office is looking good.

Enough for now. Will update you Geeks when the photo shoot is done this weekend!

Peace

Brussel's

Hey Geeks,

Well we have survived the Belgium trip we took couple of days ago. And have to admit Brussels is impressive.

We took eurostar from St Pancras International to Brussels midi where we took a cab to our 5* Plaza hotel. The Hotel was lush and elegant. Shame about the service though. For a 5* hotel you would expect much more than what was given. But hey, we survived.

After settling in we decided to take a little mini Europe tour. Which we looked at before on the Brussels Tour Guides. Mini-Europe has the reproductions of the most attractive monuments in the European Union on show, at a scale of 1:25. Roughly 80 cities and 350 buildings are represented. The park contains numerous live action models (train, mills, eruption of Mount Vesuvius, Airbus, cable cars, etc). It was pretty cool to see it all. (Check out some pics from the tour below).

The following day we booked a tour to Antwerp, which is Belgium's 2nd Largest City just next to Brussels. Antwerp is know for having the World Diamond Center which is the biggest export City in the world. For lunch we went to a small Italian restaurant down the road. The food was delicious and good value :)

After being moved into 4 different rooms back at the hotel because of air conditioning, we decided to go and wonder off into Brussels city center and check out some of the shops and bars. I have to say the people are very friendly and I was surprised that most of the people spoke The English Language as if it was their mother tongue. We were amazed by the tour guides. They went around the coach asked where each person is from and while doing the tour spoke in all the languages! Literally it would be one after another. In Belgium they speak mostly French, German and Flemish. The tour guides were speaking in English, French, Dutch, German, Italian, Spanish....just to name some.

On the last day in Brussels we decided to take a tour of Brussels. Brussels has some amazing building structures. The architectue is beautifull.

All in all we had a great time. I managed to take a few snaps so check them out.

Peace

Holidays

Well is the last day of July and you know what that means? I go on holiday for 2 weeks. Wohoo. Even though me and the Mrs are not going anywhere too fancy for the 2 weeks, we are still excited to be away from work and away from worrying about work.

Back on the 26th was the Mrs Birthday. Couple of as gathered and went to Alton Towers for the day. Was a pretty awesome day. I definitely recommend going there if you haven't been. Anyway that wasn't the present for the wife. Back in May I booked us a 2 night stay at a 5* Hotel in Brussels, Belgium, which we are leaving in 2 days :) Alex i.e. the wife, has been researching into what we can actually do while we are there. Even though we are there for like 2 nights she has managed to find various things to do around Belgium. And I though this was going to be a relaxing get away......how wrong! But after all this is for her Birthday so I guess I better keep it shut.

We leave early Tuesday morning, until than adios.
